Typo T-Shirt Will Probably Become Collectors Item
Oops! Oh, that's okay. I'm pretty sure Nelson Mandela wouldn't mind. And he'd appreciate the efforts. Associated Press tells us that cyclists traveling in Johannesburg in the former South African president's honor wore t-shirts with one of Mandela's inspirational quotes. Well, pretty close. The t-shirts read, "The purpose of freedoom is to create if for others." Organizers said that 5,000 t-shirts with the typo were made for the "Freedom Ride," which passed landmarks in downtown Johannesburg and city's Soweto area. And sure, the spelling mistake was a bit of a PR hiccup, but otherwise the Freedoom, I mean Freedom Ride was a huge success. DB
