Anyone who has ever been in charge of taking kids on a field trip knows what a handful they can be. And sometimes curiosity and mischief get the better of them and bring embarrassment to the adults.

A good case in point is the tour of a bank that kids were on in Mitchell, South Dakota. Police officers responded to what they thought was a robbery in progress at the First Dakota National Bank. What actually happened is that one of the students pushed the bank's panic alarm.

The description we got from Associated Press was that it was "apparently inadvertent." Okay, we'll give the offender the benefit of the doubt. The rest of the kids sure thought it was amusing. But definitely NOT part of the tour.  DB
