A balloonist has abandoned his plans to cross the Atlantic Ocean using 370 helium-filled balloons instead of a conventional hot-air balloon. Jonathan Trappe lifted off Thursday from a soggy softball field in northern Maine under the multi-colored balloons. He landed last night in Newfoundland after encountering technical problems. He landed safely and was uninjured.
