Too Dry for Gold Rush Days

How dry is it in California? Pity the poor prospector! It's so dry an annual event has to be postponed. Because of lack of water Sacramento's Gold Rush Days have been cancelled. The organizers usually truck 200 tons of dirt into a neighborhood to help convert it into an old west scene from the 1850s. But with the California drought and because it takes lots of water to dampen all that dirt and more to clean up afterwards, it just was not the right thing to do this year.  Start making alternate Labor Day Weekend plans, gold diggers.
