Missoula Deals With Stolen Laptops, Credit Cards and Fuel

The Missoula County Attorney’s office was back to busy this past week with around 19 felony cases. Five of those cases involved family violence. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst explains.

“There was an assault on a minor charge involving a six-year-old victim, three partner or family member assault cases, two in which the defendant was a male and the victim was a female and one in which the victim was a male and the suspect was a female,” Pabst said. “There was one felony DUI case and one negligent endangerment case.”

The most prominent type of crime though was theft, of which there were six cases.

“In one, the defendant allegedly stole laptops from Walmart and a computer store,” Pabst said. “There were a couple involving stolen credit cards, identity theft and one bad check case. We also filed a complaint against a man for allegedly stealing fuel from an RV park. Additionally, there were three methamphetamine charges.”

To top it all off, the County Attorney’s office also had a felony charge of obstructing a peace officer that it was considering on Friday.
