We are hoping for some sunshine, but a still relatively cool day is in the forecast. It should be fine for an Eggstravaganza!  Here's a few helpful ttips about the big event at 1:00 p.m. at the University of Montana Campus Oval this Saturday, March 26.

Can't Beat the Price. The Easter Eggstravaganza is free for all kids age 9 and under. Over 30,000 eggs have been provided by Missoula's Garden of Read'n. They'll be filled with treats AND lots of special eggs will contain certificates for bikes, UM summer camps and more!

Get There Early. Kids will be lined up in appropriate age groups. We expect a huge crowd and you know how fast a bunch of kids can gather up those eggs so it's a good idea to arrive early and be in line ready to go. Besides, we'll have lots of fun activities as early as one hour before the hunt.

Bag Or Basket. While there will likely be a small supply of bags in case a few youngsters forget, it's a good idea to make sure your child has his or her own bag or little basket.

Parking. Since the Oval is right in the middle of the UM campus, there isn't a parking lot adjacent to it. But we can suggest a couple close by. Lot P, the really big lot right in front of the Adams Center, is only a block or two north and the lots behind the University of Montana Library and University Center are very close, too. It's the weekend so you won't be competing with thousands of students for parking spaces.

Additional Fun Stuff. Eggstravaganza will be a Mascot-ganza, too. Monte, the Montana Grizzly mascot, Slash, the Missoula Maulers Hockey mascot, the Easter Bunny and several other lovable characters will be there. Kids can do some bunny hoppin' of their own in the bounce house. Hungry before or after? We'll have the Galloping Grizzly Food Truck there. Other games and attractions should add to the fun as well.

And Speaking of Fun. Just enjoy yourselves and have a great time! As you can tell, it's more than just a bunch of kids running wild and grabbing plastic eggs for five minutes. It's an event and we are excited to be a part of it!  See you Saturday and Happy Easter!
