Awww, look at that adorable potbellied porker! Just not in the neighbor's yard, because they ain't pets! At least that's the ruling of Southern California's Ventura County Planning Commission. The owners of five potbellied pigs have been told they can no longer have them as pets. And here's where it gets a bit touchy.

See, Jeff and Stephanie Rowland contend that the pigs are doctor-certified therapy animals. But the commission has voted against allowing them to stay in a Ventura beach community, because county law considers them farm animals.

It was unclear to us exactly how they are used as therapy animals. You sure hope that is a legitimate claim and not a way to try to scam the system. But in good faith we will say good luck to the Rowlands in their appeal to the county board of supervisors.
