The New $100 Bill is Here

In case you’ve been waiting with eager anticipation for the new $100 bills to get here, you don’t have to wait any longer. It is here and a lot more colorful than it used to be.

They are giving old Ben Franklin a face lift to make him harder to counterfeit. It doesn’t appear that they got rid of his wrinkles or double chin, but they did add raised printing, a dashed blue strip and even a new icon.

Alright, I’m not really excited about the new $100 bill. Perhaps that is because I don’t usually carry a wad of this particular denomination around with me every day. In fact, I don’t know many people who carry cash around anymore period.

I myself have probably only had the pleasure of flaunting a $100 bill a handful of times. I have to admit that I’m a little scared to carry around cash like that. You see I’m terrible about misplacing (not losing) things. The last thing I want to misplace is one hundred dollars. Ten dollars I can live with, but one hundred, no.

Hopefully, I’ll get my hands on a fancy new face lifted Franklin soon. If I do, I will be taking it straight to the bank. It’s much safer there.
