Festivals and 5K runs are certainly plentiful in Missoula, there's nearly one every week during the summer. But here's something new and fun that's been added to your festival line up!

It's called The Lantern Fest and the organizers describe it as:

At The Lantern Fest, thousands of revelers join together armed with lanterns for one unforgettable spectacle. There will be music, dancing, s’mores and, when the time is just right, we will light the sky with our highest hopes, deepest regrets, and fondest dreams.

These are the paper lanterns, also known as sky lanterns or Chinese lanterns, that you may have sent into the sky on 4th of July or New Year's Eve, or maybe at a wedding. Having so many Montanans set them off at once should make for some Instagram gold.
