The Band Perry has some news which should make fans who love genre crossovers very happy: they're planning to team up with singer/rapper Pharrell Williams to create some new music!

According to CMT After Midnite, the sibling trio has been talking with the "Happy" singer about the possibility of working on an upcoming project together. Pharrell has previously produced records for Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Nelly and several other superstars, and he is currently a judge on NBC's popular reality singing competition The Voice, so he knows a thing or two about creating music.

“We’re being really crazy about the different collaborations that we’re diving into,"  Kimberly Perry says. “We got to hang out with Pharrell a couple weeks ago. He’s like a huge country music fan, and he also really loves what we do with harmony. One thing that we worked on with him was this song where all three of us sing different interwoven vocals on the verse and on the chorus."

The Band Perry are also considering collaborations with other singers outside of the country music realm.

The band has had a busy and productive year thus far. They received a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards in a pre-show ceremony and sang a cover of Glen Campbell's classic hit "Gentle on My Mind" — their single — during the event.

"It’s always important for us to go back and touch home plate, and say, ‘This is why we do what we do,’” Kimberly says of the group's rendition. “Our heartbeat is country music, and for us, that’s what ‘Gentle on My Mind’ was all about.”
