Ring-A-Ding-Ding! Let's hear it for the Class of 1967! Especially the member who just got his ring back! It's always cool to find something that you lost years ago, but the statute of limitations definitely runs out in your head after a certain period of time, and you think to yourself there is no way it's ever going to be found.

That definitely applies to Mr. Dan Toomey of Anchorage, Alaska, who lost his class ring (Amesbury High, Amesbury, Mass.) on a beach while he was actually still in high school in 1966.

So, a tourist digs up the 10-carat beauty out of 8 inches of mud and is nice enough to take it to the high school. The employees were able to do some detective work and figure out it belonged to Mr. Toomey and returned it to him nearly 50 years after it went missing! He said he hadn't thought about the ring in years and was sure he'd never see it again.

I hope he'll be able to make it to his 50th high school reunion. He's got a great story to tell!
