30 year-old convicted rapist Jordan Scott Bahr listened quietly in Missoula District Court as his victim read a 12 page letter to Judge Robert L. 'Dusty' Deschamps about how the sexual assault Bahr inflicted on her changed her life forever.

The victim stood in the courtroom and directed her comments to the judge for consideration in sentencing.

"Jordan Scott Bahr made the active and cognitive choice to rape me," she began. "Jordan Scott Bahr should be held accountable. He chose to rape me, it was not an accident or a mistake. The record shows that he knew and understood that I did not want to do anything sexual with him. The record shows he assaulted me without invitation, and continued to assault me while I froze and resisted."

The victim related her feelings when Bahr and his attorneys entered a guilty plea after the trial in 2016.

"When he had tears in his eyes changing his plea to guilty it wasn't because of sadness for what he did to me," she said. "He's not sorry for his actions. He's sorry for himself and he's scared. If he cared about damaging me, he wouldn't have raped me."

Judge Deschamps sentenced Bahr to 10 years in the Montana State Prison with 8 years suspended.

The rape occurred on February 13, 2015, but Bahr fled the Missoula area to his family's home in Minnesota before he was brought back for trial in December of 2016.
