These two guys would have been in a lot worse shape than just seeing stars. Luckily no one was hurt in this case of mistaken identity.

A couple of North Dakota State University students were getting ready for some star gazing when police mistook their telescope for a rifle scope. They were setting up the telescope behind their apartment when they were blinded by a spotlight and told to freeze. An officer said he thought it looked like a rifle and that one of the young men's clothing resembled a tactical vest.

The students first thought it was a prank being played by fellow students. Police say the guys were never in any danger, that it was just a "better safe than sorry" situation.

Yep, never any danger. Of course they're probably so scared that they'll only use a telescope to look at stars during the day now, but..........    DB
