Missoula County Disaster and Emergency Services Director Adriane Beck chaired a public meeting this week to discuss what a team of officials had been planning for in the past four months.

Montana might seem like a cold place, especially for those who recently moved here from a coastal state, but while you're out shoveling snow or warming your hands it might be helpful to have a little perspective on just how cold it can really get.

It's so unusual these days for Missoula to receive a heavy rain, that KGVO contacted the National Weather Service Office in Missoula to see if Tuesday's rainfall may have caused any problems in the Missoula area.

Whatever you do make sure you get outside and enjoy the weather.

Despite the warm, relatively dry winter and the early spring that western Montana has experienced, the National Weather Service says there is plenty of snow pack in area mountains.
