The National Weather Service is predicting a major winter storm with heavy snow and strong winds to hammer northwest Montana, which will also affect the Missoula area.
The National Weather Service is expecting a freezing rain event in the valleys of western Montana starting Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday.
Monday morning's commute had a little bit of everything, snow, freezing rain and several slide-offs and crashes, even a snow slide on I-90, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

Yesterday a semi jack-knifed up at the top of the pass on I-90 closing the west bound lanes. Janice Goldsby, one of the Faithful 19, sent a link to the webcam showing the blockage.
