The third weekend of big game hunting season along the Rocky Mountain Front was another good one. Bruce Auchly of FW&P says the numbers are up pretty much across the board.

The first full week of open rifle season has passed and harvests for both mule deer and white-tailed deer are up 23% compared to last year. Elk harvests, on the other hand, are down by nearly the same amount. A total of 58 mule deer, 153 white-tailed deer 204 elk along with one black bear, one bighorn sheep, and moose have been harvested so far...

Elk harvest numbers are way up along the Rocky Mountain Front. F,W,& P in Region 4 says after the second weekend of general big game season they’ve seen an increase of 46 percent over the average.
