Wednesday evening's lightning storm sparked several wildfires throughout western Montana. Fire Information Officer for the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation Paula Short said Thursday morning that fires were burning from the Florence area all the way to Beavertail Hill.
For the second day in a row crews have been conducting controlled burns in the Blue Mtn Recreation Area. The first day (4/10) several spots fires appeared to burn slash piles on the front slopes of the mountain
