The Lolo Complex Fire was originally two low-priority fires that did not threaten structures. However, in the past 40 hours, hot weather and winds have fanned the fires into an official state of emergency. Several agencies are battling a new fire reported this morning near the location of the 2011 West Riverside fire. Cindy Super, fire information officer with the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, says the fire is a little more than an acre in size, but is attracting a lot of attention.

Travis David Crosby, 28, appeared in justice court via video from the Missoula County Jail and was charged with felony arson, after admitting to detectives that he had stared the fire that heavily damaged the Vantage Villa Apartments on June 13.

An arrest was made Tuesday morning in relation to the general alarm fire last Thursday at the Vantage Villa apartments. Missoula Fire Marshall Gordy Hughes said the charges could include arson or felony criminal endangerment.

A weary Missoula City Fire Chief Jason Diehl said Thursday evening that the fire at Vantage Villa apartments was one of the largest the city has seen in many years, so much so, that officials declared a general alarm just after arriving on scene.
