Eric Church took another step away from being a Nashville outsider to being the new mainstream of Music City by winning Album of the Year at the 2013 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 7), beating such huge acts as Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan and Little Big Town.
Fans of Eric Church and Kix Brooks made strong statements this week. 'Like Jesus Does' and 'Moonshine Road' both cracked the weekly Top 10 video countdown, the only countdown decided entirely by fan votes. Additionally, some familiar videos battled for the No. 1 spot, which was decided by a narrow margin of less than one percent.
As the summer months fades away and cooler weather signals the closure of another year, Eric Church is already plotting his next move for the new year. Though many artists try to remain in the spotlight during a high in their career, a well-deserved break from the demands of being a superstar is in the works for one of the hardest working men in country music.
This week, Eric Church dominates the top of the country singles chart with his latest release, ‘Drink in My Hand.’
