We all know people can have a little too much fun on Super Bowl Sunday and therefore be a little off on Monday. How many Americans will be "sick" the day after the big game?

Employers can expect Monday to be very unproductive as an estimated 14 million people are expected to call out sick with some sort of post-Super Bowl illness.

survey conducted by the Workforce Institute at Kronos and Mucinex found that 13.9 million workers expect to have a "bad cough" or "stomach virus" or "the flu" on Monday. Yop excuses day after Super Bowl:

  • A fever
  • sore throat
  • headache.

People are wondering why it isn't a national holiday and in the survey 25 percent of people believe the day after the Super Bowl should be a national holiday.
