Super Bowl Ticket Prices Then and Now
There's inflation and then of course there's Super Inflation! Did you know that they couldn't sell out the first Super Bowl? Well, with the best seats in the house going for a lofty 12 bucks, no wonder! Yeah, it sounds impossible in 2015, but ticket prices for Super Bowl I started at $6. The "cheap seats" didn't start breaking the $100 apiece
mark until 1988.
So that brings us to Sunday, where face values for tickets range from $800 to $1,900. Good luck finding a pair at those prices, though. Resale prices on nflticketexchange.com are now topping $14,000 each. But there are some real bargains in the upper, upper, upper sections for only about four grand apiece.
Enjoy the game everybody.
