Both my husband and I have birthdays in the summer. They happen to be a week apart, so we try to have a big birthday party for the both of us. I have put together some of the best outdoor party games for your parties this summer.

Yard Twister – This is just like regular twister, except you spray paint red, yellow, blue and green circles out on your lawn, so it’s an outdoor game. The best part is your vinyl twister sheet won’t get ruined with dirt and grass stains, but you can still have the fun of Twister.

Bocce ball – This is really fun and not very expensive. Four people can play at a time. It’s easy enough that the kids can play too. One person throws a small white ball, then each player rolls two balls at the little white ball. Whichever player’s ball is closest wins. You can usually find this game at most retail stores during the spring and summer.

Horseshoes – This is an oldy, but a goody. I always think of horse shoes as a game only grandparents play, maybe because their mode of transportation was a horse. This too can usually be found at most retail stores during the spring and summer.

Water balloon fights – There is nothing more fun on a hot day than hurling a water balloon as fast as you can at someone else. They are a pain in the butt to fill. I always end up wetter from filling the balloons then I do from the fight, but it is totally worth it.

Badminton – We used to play this all the time when we were kids. Last year I bought a set for my boys and we had so much fun. The great thing is that usually you can find it in a set with volleyball and a few other games for pretty cheap. Just like the other games, they can be found at most retail stores during the spring and summer.
