As we ring in the new it's time to put away overused words and phrases, lest you be "banished." I mean, you don't want to get on the bad side of the Queen's English, right? Lake Superior State University has released their 40th annual list of Words to be Banished from the Queen's English for Misuse, Overuse and Uselessness. Leading the way is "bae" (rhymes with way), a term of endearment shortened from "baby." Never heard of that one. But if you use it, cut it out! And while you're at it, drop "polar vortex," "skill set," "curated," "takeaway," "hack," "swag," "foodie" and "cra-cra." Well, I'm going to have a real easy year, as none of those are in my arsenal. Wait, is "arsenal" in there? I better check lssu.edu for the complete list. Here's to great wording in 2015, you cra-cra kids!
