Should Responsibility Machines be Installed in Bars? Pregnancy Tests are Already an Option

A Minnesota pub is the first to dispense more than tampons, condoms and cologne in its women’s bathroom. Pub 500 is dispensing pregnancy tests for just $3 a pop. They have made it even more convenient for women because you don’t have to dig around in your purse to find change, you can just swipe your credit or debit card.

Before you get your panties in a wad over the whole idea, you’ll be glad to know that all the proceeds from the dispenser go to a local nonprofit, Healthy Brains for Children. This nonprofit’s goal is to help reduce the effects of alcohol caused birth defects.

I personally think this dispenser is a great idea. It’s safe to say that people don’t make the best decisions when they have been drinking. So, hopefully this will help some women who think they might be pregnant, but don’t want to have to go through the humiliation of buying it at the local drug store or grocery store. No matter how the times have changed, there is still some shame when purchasing a pregnancy test when you have no ring on your finger.

Possibly the only thing that could be better than a pregnancy test dispenser would be to have a machine that dispensed tests that could tell you if you were going to get pregnant if you slept with someone that night. That might ruin a few one night stands and keep some pants on. You could call it the reality or responsibility machine.

Pregnancy test dispenser or not, I think it’s best to act as if you got a positive test from the reality or responsibility machine every time you plan on spending a long night out at the bars.
