The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is looking for the public's help in locating a missing firearm, and a tow truck that may have been stolen.

Public Information Officer Paige Pavalone said the missing firearm is a handgun that the owner believes was lost while hiking in the Blue Mountain area.

The firearm is a Taurus model snub-nose model, small caliber handgun.

The truck is a 1994  Ford F-450 with a tow bar on the back that was at a repair facility in Lolo, and was not in running condition. Pavalone said it is assumed that the tow truck had to have been towed away from the shop sometime late last week.

Anyone with information regarding the missing firearm, or who may have spotted the stolen tow truck, is asked to contact Five Valley Crimestoppers at 721-44-44.
