Scotty McCreery Sings George Strait’s ‘Christmas Cookies’ at School Choir Concert

Scotty McCreery isn’t too big to perform with his high school choir. The 18-year-old senior joined the talented singers at Garner High School during a recent Christmas show, singing a version of George Strait‘s ‘Christmas Cookies.’
McCreery sings while his fellow Trojans just clap to the beat in this video from the show, found by fans. It’s somewhat noteworthy to see him dolled up in a tuxedo. At recent country awards shows, he’s stuck to a pair of blue jeans and maybe a jacket. But when your teacher tells you to get a tux, you do as you’re told if you want an ‘A.’
This isn’t the first time McCreery’s covered Strait’s Christmas classic. At a show to benefit the North Carolina Children’s Hospital in November, he sang the song for a sold out 1,500 seat auditorium.
The teen captures the easy swagger that Strait infuses into the lyrics, although it’s somewhat eyebrow raising to hear him sing “That’s 15 minutes for some kissin’ and some huggin’.”
Scotty McCreery, you animal.
