It takes a pretty good dump of snow in the northwest for schools to close for a "Snow Day." How about for a "Sun Day?" That's what kids got in Bellingham, Washington Friday. The promise of nice spring weather in sun-deprived Bellingham prompted the principal at a small private school to give kids the day off to enjoy the sunshine. He wanted to give kids who attend Bellingham Christian School (205 students) a chance to re-energize a bit. He surveyed parents and talked with the school board before making the call. The school had done it before, but the last one was two years ago and they did not take any snow days this year. So here's hoping the kids had a great Sun Day yesterday! DB.
