School Buses Stalled by Battery Thefts

Boy, this is one student who must REALLY not want to go to school, huh? Actually it appears to be a rather odd crime ring going on. Associated Press reports one of the latest crime sprees to hit the Atlanta area is the theft of batteries from school buses. We're talking 90 buses, here, folks, just since October! Needless to say there have been lots of late students and no-shows on the attendance clipboard. Authorities say the thefts are a mystery, although batteries can be resold on the black market. And unfortunately, surveillance video has been pretty spotty, with only one one vehicle seen on video, but that hasn't amounted to anything yet.

A task force has been named to investigate. If the force has to drive anywhere, they should probably keep checking under their hoods.
