Missoula County Sheriff's department spokesman Jason Johnson has released the name of the victim of Saturday afternoon's motorcycle crash near Lolo. Johnson says 31 year-old Frank Schwindt died of blunt force trauma to the head and back. Johnson said Schwindt was not wearing a helmet when his motorcycle went off the road and tumbled into a ditch.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a 31 year-old man from Florence was killed Saturday afternoon not far from Lolo.

Trooper Richard Salois said that the unidentified man lost control on old U.S. Highway 93 not far from Trader Brothers at about 1 p.m. and left the road, went into a ditch and tumbled over several times.

Salois said the man was not wearing a helmet, and was pronounced dead after being transported to Missoula's St. Patrick Hospital. The victim's name has not been released pending notification of his family.
