33 year-old Carissa Lynn Kopp was arrested not long after Thomas Dempsey and Nick West in relation to the robbery and carjacking incident that occurred on Friday, May 27, as an accomplice in the incident.

Federal court documents indicate that Kopp was Nick West's girlfriend, and they had met about a month before. She admitted being the driver during the robbery.

Kopp also admitted to being present during the planning of the robbery by West and Kopp. Kopp was present when West took two handguns and an assault rifle which were stored in his residence and placed them on his person and in the vehicle. Kopp stated a white pillowcase covered the assault rifle. Kopp, West, and Dempsey drove in her 2009 Chevy Impala, black in color, which matched the description provided by one of the hostages as the vehicle that sped off near the underpass of I-90, to pick up Dempsey's girlfriend.

Media Spokesperson for the FBI, Sandra Yi Barker laid out the charges that were filed against Kopp.

"A federal warrant for arrest was issued against Dempsey, West and Carissa Kopp," Barker said. "Kopp was West's girl friend, and admitted to being the driver during the Deano's robbery, and also being present when the men planned the crime. The complaint alleges that the violations against Carissa Lynn Kopp include robbery affecting commerce, carjacking, possession of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and as well as the discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence."

Kopp appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah Lynch just after the appearances of Thomas Dempsey and Nick West on Tuesday. She is also being held without bond in the Missoula County Jail.
