A home on Skyline Drive in the Rattlesnake area was a total loss after a wind-driven  fire broke out early Monday morning, October 28.

Corporal Matt Kazinsky with the Missoula Police Department said the call came in to 9-1-1 just before 3:00 a.m.

"There was a report of a structure fire in the 2400 block of Skyline Drive, that's in the Rattlesnake area," Kazinsky said. "Officers found the home fully engulfed when they arrived, however, the residents of the home were able to escape. One male adult sustained a non life-threatening burn and was transported to a local hospital for treatment."

Assistant Missoula Fire Chief Jeff Brandt said strong winds caused the fire to quickly engulf the entire home, resulting in a total loss, The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
