think Montanans can relate to a dangerous predator's impact on other species. The state of Florida released a study today saying that areas where bobcats, raccoons, opossums and other mammals were once abundant are being decimated.Massive pyhtons in the Everglades appear to be the culprits. They're not native to the 'Glades. Many are believed to be pets that were abandoned when they got too large. Others may be escapees during a 1992 hurricane and been reproducing\existing ever since. I've only had a chance to visit the Everglades once. Incredible area. Hope they can get a handle on the situation before it's too late. DB
