Well, with fall and rifle seasons in the air, it's time to get the guns sighted in, right?

Everyone, members and non-members alike, is invited to do just that this Sunday, October 5, at the Deer Creek Shooting Center between Bonner and East Missoula. The Western Montana Fish and Game Association is conducting this event from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It's intended for hunters to get tuned up and checked out prior to the opening of general big game season.

Range Rules: You must bring your own rifles and ammo. Eye and ear protection is required, too. Participants will need to sign a liability waiver before using the Deer Creek Shooting Center and you should bring paper targets and tape or staple gun affix them to target backers. Sight-in distances available are 25-100 yards.

If you are not familiar, the Deer Creek Center is one of the most well developed shooting facilities in the northwest. Located along Deer Creek Road just south of the Montana Rail Link tracks, access is usually only available to its 2,500 local members. While you don't have to be a member to use the center on Sight-in day, interested persons can join at the gun counters at Bob Ward's and Sportsman's Warehouse. And to find out more you can contact Jim McDonald at 370-2500.

Good sighting and good hunting!  DB
