Quite a few years ago, the Lost Trail Ski Patrol realized that they could earn money for equipment and safety training by helping people get rid of their old ski equipment and their kids' outgrown ski boots by having a swap meet. It started out at the old Hamilton National Guard Armory and has grown over the years to include all sorts of sporting equipment - enough that it requires the space at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds First Interstate Event Center.

This Friday, October 12, you can consign your old equipment such as downhill and cross-country skis, poles, boots, snowboards, snowshoes, bikes, helmets, skateboards and more from the hours of 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the fairgrounds in Hamilton. Then, for three short hours Saturday morning, October 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, the doors open for the sale. The Lost Trail Powder Mountain Ski Patrol examines the winter gear to alert buyers of any safety needs and the organization takes a small percentage of each sale to help buy new safety equipment for this year's ski season.
