A Polson woman, Ana Christina Perez, appeared via video in Missoula Justice Court charged with one felony and two misdemeanors after allegedly driving drunk, endangering a child and crashing into two vehicles in Missoula.

Perez, 36, appeared via video in Missoula Justice Court before Judge Marie Anderson.

According to court documents, Perez was driving a Dodge Caliber in the area of Margaret and Strand Streets in Missoula on Friday, February 20, when she allegedly drove up onto a curb, narrowly missed crashing into one vehicle, and than hitting a Ford truck.

One witness told police that he followed Perez, and when the car was stopped, she refused to shut off her vehicle, so the witness blocked Perez' car, reached inside, put it in park and took the keys.

When Officer Potter with the Missoula Police Department arrived, Perez had her crying four year-old daughter in her lap. He said Perez was too intoxicated to complete a field sobriety test.

At her court appearance, Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst asked Judge Anderson for $10,000 bail, however, the public defender told the judge there were mitigating circumstances.

"She's had two previous DUI's, and is currently on leave as part of the Family Medical Leave Act, due to the fact that her husband and infant daughter were both killed in 2014," he said. "I guess that could be a factor that enters into this case."

Judge Anderson set bail at $5,000, and ordered Perez to have no contact with alcohol. She will have another court appearance on March 11.
