Oh, what a tangled web it weaved.Tuesday's vote count was delayed in a small town thanks to a spider. This happened in Rehoboth, Mass. One of the "aging" (I think we must emphasize aging) voting machines malfunctioned Tuesday morning. A technician was called in, who said a spider web apparently prevented the machine's scanner from counting ballots, so the vote count wasn't completed until Wednesday. We're talking old machine here! The spider web contained the remains of 8 flies, three grasshoppers and four votes for Harry Truman.     DB
