Missoula police are asking for the public's help in finding two individuals suspected of stealing nearly $5,000 in hunting gear.

Detective Sergeant Jim Klawitter said the incident happened on Wednesday at a local store.

"A gentleman went into Super Walmart just before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday," Klowitter said. "While he was inside the store, a male and a female in a blue SUV were involved in the theft. They took three dufflebags containing hunting equipment, including a firearm out of the truck, and the total value was about $5,000."

Any theft that totals more than $1,500 is considered a felony.

Klawitter said police detectives are reviewing the surveillance video from the store and working some suspect leads at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Mitch Lang at the Missoula Police Department at 552-6300.
