Plane Debris from Hijacked September 11 Attacks May Have Been Discovered Near Ground Zero
Investigators are looking into the possibility that a part of a landing gear from one of the planes which crashed during the September 11 attacks has been found near Ground Zero in New York City.
Authorities claim the part was discovered near the back of a building between 51 Park Place and 50 Murray Street. The part was found after the owner of the property on Park Place had ordered an inspection by surveyors.
Police have sealed off the area and are treating it like a crime scene by taking photos while medical personnel determine how safe it is. According to WABC, "The part includes a clearly visible Boeing identification number."
After completing a safety analysis, officials will decide whether or not to look around the area in the hopes of uncovering human remains.
