Just because there's no snow doesn't mean Missoula can't have a Winter Carnival.

Missoula Parks and Recreation will be hosting a Winter Carnival this Sunday, February 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Marshall Mountain, east of Missoula.

Outdoor Recreation Specialist Meg Rogosienski said weather shouldn't be a factor in getting the community together.

"We won't let the weather dictate how we recreate," Rogosienski said. "We'll still have plenty of family-friendly carnival games, live music from Kristi Newman, and what we're calling the 'June-uary Folf Tournament'."

There is no admission charge, but a one dollar donation is requested.

"All the proceeds are going to purchase adaptive recreation equipment for people with disabilities," She said. "The Folf tournament will start at noon, and music by Kristi Newman will begin at about 12;30, plus there'll be carnival games all day."

Marshall Mountain is located just off Highway 200 east of East Missoula.
