I know I'm going back a few years here, but do you guys remember a similar incident in Missoula? We're not talking about this kind of dough, but a fellow in Missoula Parking Commission management was skimming a little coin. Associated Press tells us that a parking enforcement officer near New York City is accused of stealing more than $89,000 from parking meters. Wow! I suppose with upgraded parking meters that accept dollar bills like the one shown, we're not talking about tons of coins here. Still, that must have been a lengthy, methodical heist. Jeffrey Daday has been arraigned on felony grand larceny charges. He's accused of emptying meters and putting some of the cash in his own back account. He's been released on his own recognizance. No bail, but they will mark him with white chalk wherever he goes. DB
