Just in case everyone in Missoula hasn’t heard yet, my husband drew a mountain goat tag. I’m not sure how there could possibly be anyone left in this town who hasn’t heard, as he has been on the phone nonstop since he found out.

If you haven’t checked yet, you should check to see if you were drawn for any special hunting tags. Apparently the drawings are done; and those lucky winners have been announced.

Were you lucky enough to draw a moose, big horn sheep or mountain goat tag? Some people put in for these tags their entire lives and never are lucky enough to draw one or even all three of these tags.

This year my husband was very lucky. But, he wasn’t the only lucky one in the family. I too drew one of these tags. I drew a big horn sheep tag. It’s an ewe tag, which is easier to draw than a ram tag, but still a pretty amazing tag to draw.

This fall, along with youth football and soccer, our family will be very busy hunting a couple of Montana’s most beautiful big game animals.

There is only one thing that worries me about drawing these two tags, I don’t know where we will put the mounts in our house. We have very little room left to hang new mounts thanks to our elk, moose, deer, bear, coyote, fox, steelhead, and mountain lion mounts and rugs already hanging on our walls.
