Oldest Person Wants to Meet the President

Mr. President, if you really want to respect your elders, you should start right at the top with the eldest of all! Congratulations to Gertrude Weaver of Arkansas, who is now the oldest-know living person on earth. Gert checks in at 116! She was already the oldest American, but with the passing of a 117-year-old in Japan Wednesday, she moves to the top spot.

Gertrude says she would like President Obama to attend her 117th birthday celebration on Fourth of July weekend. And how could he or anybody say no to that!  Especially when you got her vote in 2008 and 2012 (wonder how many presidents she has voted for).

The staff at the assisted living center where she resides says she is in good health. She attributes her long life to being nice to others.

I'm thinking the Pres better cancel any other plans he might have made over the Fourth. Long live Gertrude!
