Norwegian Icebreaker Sighted on Mississippi River
March 9, 2013 7:56 AM Winter just won’t let go of the Midwest…multiple storms have dumped loads of snow and subzero temperatures have frozen lakes and rivers solid. The Mississippi River is reportedly ice locked and jammed with huge chunks of ice. The situation has prompted officials to call for help. A Norwegian icebreaker has started clearing the river.
