We're looking at this news with one eyebrow raised. It seems every time an event announces that they'll try to continue as planned, it ends up being postponed or canceled as the date draws closer. The Western Montana Fair has already announced that this year's version of the fair will be stripped down with pretty much only 4-H activities and online exhibits. You can submit entries for virtual judging of exhibits HERE.

On the flip side of things, the Northwest Montana Fair in Kalispell has announced that they've decided to proceed with the fair and rodeo scheduled for August. The plan is to use social distancing and sanitization to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Masks are strongly recommended for anyone on the fairgrounds - visitors, vendors, workers, etc.

Can we actually see a fair with animals, a carnival, food, rodeos, concerts, and rides during these crazy times with the coronavirus pandemic? Will it be able to still take place with large crowds? That's the plan.......as of now. The Northwest Montana Fair posted on their Facebook page that they will be "posting changes to this year’s fair as we finalize them," so we'll have to wait and see what the final product and lineup are as we get closer to the fair's start date.

Judging from the public's reaction on social media, a lot of people are excited about the announcement to proceed with the plans for the fair in Kalispell. What do you think? Would you be ready to attend an event like a fair right now?

The Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo is scheduled to run August 19th to the 23rd.
