New York Town Tells Tourists To Forget It

When even the chamber of commerce or the department of tourism can't put a positive spin on it, you know it sucks. And the honest folks in Ithaca, New York's tourism office have surrendered to one of the most brutal winters on record and is encouraging people to go to Florida.

Associated Press reported that Ithaca's tourism site has Florida vacation photos and the caption, "That's it. We surrender. Winter, you win. Key West, anyone?"  Calling it a ridiculously stupid winter," the website encourages potential tourists to try again when things thaw out. See for yourself at visitithaca.com.
