Since Corey Schafer arrived in Missoula at sixteen years old he has had one goal, to be the best hockey player he could be. As the Maulers wrapped up their home regular season on Friday with a convincing 11-2 win over the Whitefish Wolverines, Schafer added his name into the Maulers record books. On his third goal of the night Corey became the Maulers all time leading points scorer as well as the single season points record holder. And to show Corey's relentless drive to play at his best he wasn't done, he ended his record setting night with four goals and one assist.

The Maulers wrap up their final two games of the regular season in Seattle against the Totems this weekend. As of right now it looks like the Maulers will have playoff hockey March 13th and 14th at Glacier Ice Rink in Missoula against the Southern Oregon Spartans. Although that is subject to change depending on the outcome of the rest of the regular season.

To make tonight's record setting performance even better during the first intermission the Maulers did something very special. One Mauler fan, Keagan O'Connor who has been battling Cystic Fibrosis since just one month old was granted a wish by the Make-A-Wish foundation. His wish is to go to Dubai, and his trip is set for late March.
