In addition to rooting for Griz touchdown drives on Saturday, let's all cheer for a truly successful toy drive, too. But it can't happen without you.

Started by a Grizzly football player 18 years ago, the University of Montana's annual Griz for Kids Toy Drive will take place this Saturday, November 4, leading up to the huge clash between the Montana Grizzlies and Sacramento State Hornets in a key Big Sky Conference football matchup.

Griz fans will be asked to open their hearts to children in need. This is the single biggest fundraising day for this yearly drive that helps fulfill the heartfelt wishes of children at the holidays.

The Griz for Kids Toy Drive was inspired by UM Grizzly football player Chris Orwig, who said the entire team felt incredible fan support from the community and he wanted to find a way to give back. So Chris took charge of the organizing of the toy drive. The University of Montana and Grizzly Athletics have continued to support the Griz for Kids Toy Drive.

Incidentally, Chris Orwig still lives in the Missoula area with his family and continues to be a big supporter of the drive he imagined 18 years ago.

HERE IS ALL YOU'RE ASKED TO DO

Please bring new, unwrapped toys to Washington-Grizzly Stadium when you come to the game on Saturday. It's entirely up to you to determine the value of the toys, what age group the toys would be the best fit for, either for boys or girls, etc.

And remember, with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff, there will still be plenty of time to make your purchases on Saturday before you come to the game.

JUST DROP THEM OFF AT THE ENTRANCES

Drop-off tables hosted by volunteers and Griz for Kids staff members will be at every stadium entrance from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Cash donations will be graciously accepted as well.

There is such a huge need in Missoula for these children to have a brighter Christmas. With the help of Griz Nation, we know it will happen!
