There is a lot of baking that goes on in my house during the Christmas season. Whether it is with the kids, by myself, with family members or with friends, baking is a great way to enjoy the holidays. Not only is making these holiday goodies fun, it is also satisfying. For your belly that is.

This is a list of my family’s favorite holiday treats that we bake every year. Did yours make the list?

    Chocolate mint brownies

I can’t seem to get enough mint during the holidays, and there is no better mate for mint than chocolate, especially a rich gooey brownie.

    Peanut butter blossoms

My husband’s favorite by far, these peanut butter flavored mini cookies are topped with a Hershey’s Kiss, making for the perfect bite of peanut butter and chocolate.

    Spritz cookies

Buttery bite sized cookies that melt in your mouth are the best way to describe these Christmas classics.

    Divinity

Eating this holiday treat is like eating a cloud. Light and airy with a hint of vanilla flavor.

    Ginger snaps

These small cookies have become one of my recent favorites. I just love their crispness and bite of ginger.

    Chocolate sugar cookies

These cookies are the best compromise to my husband’s love of sugar cookies and my love of chocolate. These can be festively decorated to showcase the season, but are delicious plain too.

    Peppermint fudge

One of my dear friends makes this every year. It is the only fudge I look forward to and eat, during the holidays. It combines the texture and richness of fudge, with the flavor of the holidays.

    Almond roca

A rich, crunchy, and buttery filling, coated with a thin layer of chocolate and sprinkled with almonds make this one of my family’s favorites. It is surprisingly easier to make than you think.
