Well when the fishing is good, the prices go up as well. Montana FWP is seeing some strain on their operating budget so they will be putting the rise on licence prices.FWP spokesperson Andrea Jones says there hasn't been an increase in angler licensing fees since 2005. While other businesses have been able to increase prices to maintain their operating costs, that isn't the case with FWP - and because of that, the state agency wants the 2015 State Legislature to pass a fee increase. The proposed increase would bring the price for a fishing license from $8 to $14 for in-state residents and from $60 to $86 for out of state residents. Jones said the increase would help FWP uphold the same level of operations and conservation.

I don't know but almost 6 dollars for locals, seems a bit steep but I do love to keep fishing a thriving part of our economy. Fish on
