The Montana Special Olympics Summer Games will be held for the 3rd, and final, year in Missoula this May, and it takes a big team of volunteers to pull off such a major event.

By the way, it's not the final year for the Summer Games, just the final year for Missoula to host, the event will move to Great Falls in 2018 for a 3 year run.

The Summer Games will be held from May 16th to 20th, with an estimated 1,200 athletes along with around 500 family members and coaches taking part. Events are held on the U of M campus with opening ceremonies at Washington-Grizzly Stadium, featuring a parade of athletes and passing of the Olympic torch. The opening ceremony is free and open to the public.

With that said, a LOT of volunteers are needed to pull off the Summer Games. Around 1,500 volunteers will be needed to help with the events. If you're interested in helping, you can work as little as 4 hours, to as much as all 4 days of this year's Summer Games. Learn more and sign up here.
